Agentic commerce training for teams whose next customer might be a bot.

Agentic commerce is what happens when an AI assistant does the shopping. It researches, compares and, more and more, buys on your customer's behalf. I run briefings, workshops and talks that show ecommerce, digital and leadership teams what is already happening in their category, and what to get ready now. I'm based in London and work with teams across the UK and Europe, in person or online.

Fadi Shuman speaking about agentic commerce
The short version

What is agentic commerce?

Agentic commerce is shopping done by an AI agent on a person's behalf. The person sets the goal. The agent finds the options, compares them and, where it's allowed, completes the purchase.

It's further along than most teams think. In September 2026 Meta launched a personal AI agent with a pitch about switching your car insurance in five minutes. Amazon's Buy for Me already buys from other brands' websites without the customer leaving the Amazon app.

The checkouts are still rough. OpenAI launched Instant Checkout in September 2025 and pulled it back by March 2026, and Walmart reported conversion three times lower inside the assistant than on its own site. So the purchase still mostly happens on your site. The shortlist has already moved into the assistant, and that's where brands are won or lost.

GEO gets your brand into the answer. Agentic commerce is the next step, when the AI also does the buying. See GEO training →

What we cover

From what the agents do today to what your team should fix first.

Where it stands

What the agents can do in your category

Which launches worked, which failed in public, and what the numbers say. Live examples from your own sector, so nobody leaves thinking it's science fiction.

How an agent chooses

What it reads before it picks

Product data, price, stock, delivery, returns, reviews and the sources it trusts. Why one brand makes the shortlist and another never comes up.

Getting ready

Data a machine can read

Product feeds, structured data and policies written so an agent can understand them, and who in your team owns each one.

Checkout and trust

When the buyer is software

Agent payments, fraud and authentication, and what happens to returns and customer service when no person clicked "buy".

The P&L

Where the money moves

Marketplaces, retail media and your own site when the shortlist is made somewhere else. Where to invest, and what to stop paying for.

The content was absolutely spot on, seriously cutting edge on AI and agentic checkouts. High energy, super interactive, and exactly what we needed. Couldn't have asked for more.

Why me

I'm watching it happen on my own brands.

I run two consumer brands, HIRO and OTO, so I see what the AI assistants say about my own products and what that does to sales. It's a lot less theoretical when it's your own money.

I've worked in ecommerce since 2001, through every shift from the first online shops to marketplaces and mobile. I was Global Chief Digital Officer at Geometry, WPP, building ecommerce for Coca-Cola, Unilever, GSK and Heineken. Every session is built around your category and explained in plain English, for a room that includes people who don't live in the tech.

Questions

Agentic commerce, answered.

What is agentic commerce?

Agentic commerce is shopping done by an AI agent on a person's behalf. The person sets the goal, and the agent finds the options, compares them and, where it's allowed, completes the purchase.

How is it different from GEO?

GEO is about being named in the answer when a person asks an AI assistant for advice. Agentic commerce goes a step further: the assistant acts, comparing and buying for the person. Most teams need both, and I often run them together.

Is agentic commerce happening yet?

For research and shortlists, yes. AI assistants are already comparing products for your customers. Buying inside the assistant has been harder: OpenAI launched Instant Checkout in September 2025 and pulled it back by March 2026. So the shortlist has moved, and most purchases still happen on your own site or a retailer's.

Who is the training for?

Ecommerce, digital, marketing, product, payments and customer service teams, and leadership teams who want a clear view before they invest.

Is it tailored to our sector?

Yes. I build every session around your category, with live examples of what the AI assistants do with your products and your competitors'.

Can you speak at our event?

Yes. My current talk, From discovery to decision, works as a 30 to 45 minute keynote. Email me with the date, the audience and the format.

Where are you based?

London. I work in person across the UK and Europe, and online anywhere.
